‘Thom the Hunter’ offers unique experiences in fishing, foraging, hunting and wild food cookery
“A one day introduction to wild food cookery. After a short boat journey to the secret and secluded location of the lost cottage, we will spend the day covering some basic techniques in foraging and the identification of wild plants / herbs / fungi and much more.
We’ll then move on to the preparation of wild meat or fish for the table. This element of the day will be hands on and will include gutting, skinning and filleting of the chosen meat or fish. We’ll cover some traditional out door cooking techniques such as smoking, wood roasting, baking on hot rocks, digging underground ovens and spit roasting meat. At the end of the day we’ll tuck into a fantastic feast made entirely of the wild food caught, foraged or prepared on site.
The course runs from 9am – 4:30pm and the cost includes;
Boat transportation to and from Smugglers Cottage
